HENRY FORD WAS A VILLAIN, NOT A GENIUS
I always say that this is the era of fanboys. The fanboys leave no opportunity to lick the feet of the likes of Musk or Bezos.
However, there have been fanboys of Henry Ford for decades. They excitedly say that Henry Ford Tripled the salary of his employees so that they could afford cars.
If only these fanboys had read between the lines. When Ford introduced the Factory Line, it dehumanized the workers. The workers became robots — a la Charlie Chaplin’s Modern Times.
This resulted in high employee turnover. The salary hike was akin to dangling carrots. It made sure that new employees always line up at the front door of Ford. This made the existing employees believe that they were replaceable. So they remained meek.
Also, the extra salary was subject to investigations from his Socialisation Department. The people from this department would visit the homes of the employees. Only those employees who adhered to the “American way of living” were granted the extra money. And mind you, these visits were unannounced and they encroached on the privacy of the employees.
